Concept & Feasibility
We pressure-test your idea against physics, budget and timeline before a single part is cut.
R&D · Hydraulics · Heavy Engineering
You know what you want to build — you just don’t know where to start. We turn ambitious mechanical ideas into engineered hydraulic systems, from first sketch to a working cylinder.
Who we are
HFX Research is an open-minded R&D company. Since 2016 we’ve been working out ideas that sat in our heads for years. With roots in maritime operations and the construction of heavy equipment — and hands-on experience producing the components inside those installations — we manage genuinely complex problems.
Brainport · near Eindhoven
We work in the Brainport region near Eindhoven — the city that gave the world the lightbulb. Fitting, because our job is the same: take a bright idea and make it simple. Engineered, buildable, real.
What we do
Four ways we help professionals move from “we want to build this” to a system that actually works under load.
We pressure-test your idea against physics, budget and timeline before a single part is cut.
Large, complex hydraulic cylinders — sealing, materials and tolerances engineered as a whole.
Valve blocks, sensors and logic that turn raw force into precise, repeatable motion.
A vetted production network takes the validated design through to a delivered unit.
Disciplines
One team, the full chain — from the steel and the hydraulics to the boards, the motors and the code that drives them.
Selected projects
A look at how concepts become hardware. One headline view, two details, the story in brief.
An electric drive built from the ground up — a wound stator, a balanced rotor on a splined shaft, and a matched planetary gearbox that turns speed into torque.
We assemble and test the whole train as one unit, so what leaves the bench is ready to do real work.
A control unit we design, wire and house ourselves — sensors and drivers in one rugged enclosure, with the harness breaking out to the hydraulics.
Everything is logged and tuned on the bench against live signals before it goes anywhere near a machine.
When the right sensor doesn't exist off the shelf, we make it. Compact circuit boards laid out, populated and tested in-house, then built into a housing tough enough for the field.
Small parts doing precise work — the quiet end of high force.
Let’s build it
Tell us what you’re trying to move, lift or hold. We’ll tell you honestly whether — and how — it can be built. No jargon, no obligation.
